The 1+1 Ranch is a real working cattle & quarter horse ranch that comprises over 7000 acres of prime ranch land near Burwell, Nebraska. Located just 80 miles from Grand Island and 200 miles from Omaha, it’s an area of breathtaking beauty in the heart of the Sand Hills, the largest sand dune formation in all North America. The Sand Hills region played a tremendous role in the history of this part of our great country. With westward expansion in the 1800s, the area became populated with hearty, adventurous folks. Were it not for their rugged independence, indomitable spirit, and love of nature and the land, Nebraska and other plains states might never have been settled.

The Rowse family is part of that rugged tradition. Jerry is a 6thgeneration rancher in Garfield County, and his family has been ranching in this area since 1884. Today Jerry, Tammy and Kyle run Tammy’s parents’ and grandparents’ land along with their own, including more than 600 pairs plus all the horses. They work the land, run an award-winning quarterhorse breeding program, and host vacationing guests at the ranch throughout much of the year.

It’s a sure bet Jerry or Kyle Rowse will share some great stories with you.

When work is done or you’re just looking for fun, you’ll find it nearby! Rodeos, team roping, fishing, golfing, cannoeing, stargazing, shopping and more, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Spring, Summer or Fall…Each season is special at the 1+1 Ranch. Spring brings the excitement of calves and foals being born. Summer brings cattle drives, working cattle, cowboy socials and teamroping. October is fall Round-Up, which involves long cattle drives on horseback.

When you visit the 1+1 Ranch, you and your companions will hang your hat in the new log cabins or rooms in the Main Ranch.
